Lost from Scropton on Sunday 10^th March 2013

Short haired black/white male cat with no tail.

Further Information:

 Hardy is 5 1/2 years old

Male, black and white short haired cat, neutered and microchipped with Identachip.

He has no tail, and when seated he sticks his left rear leg out as seen in photo.

Hardy does not wear a collar.

He has never stayed out and was always in and out via cat flap.

We have sent out  flyers, gone door to door, put posters in local shops and on telegraph posts.

We have walked the area numerous time calling him and searched the area numerous time.

We have advised all the local vets, the RSPCA and Cat protection League

We have spoken to local businesses, the allotments  holders near us, we have asked the local church to check their property

We have advised the councils and dog wardens for the Scropton area

We have asked the estate agents with properties that are vacant near us to please check the properties

The Burton Mail have ran and article on him.

He is a wonderful, loving cat who would not have got into any vehicle and been hesitant at strangers

We are happy to offer a reward for his safe return

He loves cat food with gravy and prawns, lying by the fire and sleeping

He is not viscous, does not hiss or scratch

Home Safe after 4 years Missing! Found from this Blog.

Read about Muppet on his original posting.    A lady searched the internet and found details of Muppet on Found & Lost Pets (this blog) and contacted owner Karen.  Muppet was living a mile form his home as a feral cat.  The RSPCA loaned Karen a trap and after a short while he was caught and is home!

Cat Home Safe after 16 Months

A CAT has been reunited with its owner after going missing 16 months ago.

Five-year old feline Pepsi disappeared in Milton Keynes last year after his owner, Cheryl Boardman, had moved house. However, this week, he was brought into the Wood Green animal shelter at Heydon by a member of the public.

Because Pepsi was microchipped, staff at the shelter were able to reunite the cat with his owner.

Mrs Boardman, who said she had "given up all hope" of finding her pet, said: "Its like he has never been away. We were so delighted and amazed that Pepsi had been found and my daughter was so excited when she came home from school to find her cat Pepsi had come home."

Nicola Bacon, Communications Manager for Wood Green Animal Shelters said: "It is amazing that we have been able to reunite Pepsi with his owner. He was in such a sorry state when he arrived that it was very clear he had been fending for himself for a long time.

"This just highlights the importance of having your animals microchipped; if Pepsi hadn't been chipped previously it is very unlikely after all this time that we would have been successful in reuniting him with his owner. He is certainly a very lucky cat with many of his nine lives intact."

Hermes the Tortoise is Home Safe

Message from Helen:

Our tortoise has been returned, thankfully relatively unscathed! We don't know how, who or why but woke up on the weekend to find her sitting on a shrub looking rather dazed.
She was dehydrated and hungry when she was bought home but has recovered well.

Home Safe

Hermes has been missing in the Stoke Newington N16 (North London / Hackney) area since 1st May. She was taken from her Hide - the garden is tortoise-proof so human involvement suspected.

Hermes is 6 years old and very much missed. Vets, police, RSPCA, pets shops have been notified.

I have great news, Flash is home :) The SSPCA had rehomed her in error but we managed to get the lady who rehomed her to bring her back to us :) Never been as happy in my life, so relieved she is home safe and well. Shes a bit confused at the moment but seems to have settled back in.thanks again for all your help with my cat.Nadia and Flash x"

Council Cleansing Department had found a cat resembling Flash and told the owner Flash had been killed in a RTA. Flash was not microchipped.

Flash is 8 months old and wandered off on the 5th February 2009 - he may have become disorientated in the snow. Last seen around 9pm that Thursday.

She is missing from the CROFT area in LARKHALL, Lancashire in Scotland.

She is petite, no collar nor microchipped, very friendly and doesn't go far normally.

Hi, I found him today!!! On a building site next door to me!! He is in a bad way (lost half his body weight and very dehydrated) but he is at the vets today on a drip and doing well - will let you all know how he gets on but he should be home in about 4 days (fingers and paws crossed). I need to thank the three builders responsible (i did thank two of them this morning but the one who rang me yesterday wasn't there so need to speak with all). They have made me the happiest I have been in a long time and Piper owes them his life.
Still in shock and very emotional but fantastic news!!!

Home Safe after 4 years Missing!

UPDATE:
I have had an email about my long lost white cat from someone who has seen a white cat they think is stray.  They did a websearch and found my details on your website - thanks.

He is in the next village to us, probably 1 mile from our house as the crow flies.  We have seen him twice from a distance of about 10 metres and he looks a lot like Muppet so it really could be him.  He is living feral so no-one can get near him, but we put up posters and have had many calls including a lady who tried to catch him last summer and she said he has been around the area for well over a year.

We have borrowed a trap from the rspca but he is so jumpy I'm not sure if the trap will work and we can't get near enough to him to give him food eta as he just runs away when he sees people.  Do you have any other suggestions for catching him?

UPDATE:
Fantastic, unbelievable news… we caught him in the RSPCA trap last night.   We bought him home and shut him in the spare room on his own as he was so frightened. 

Taken him to the vets today,– he is Muppet!  

He is very dirty and riddled with fleas and worms as you would expect, but otherwise healthy.   He has stayed at the vets to be neutered and checked for FIV.

Original details:
Muppet was six months old went he went missing on 28 April 2004 and is coming up for SEVEN YEARS OLD now.

. He is not neutered or microchipped.  As a Tom, Muppet may have wandered too far or  jumped in a car so maybe travelled into another county.

Or locally did anyone give a home to a white kitten in 2004? His owner understands that Muppet may have a new home and is happy. Karen would like to know he is safe.

Muppet has a small patch of grey fur on his head (seen on close inspection).  He has a large bushy white tail and long hair on the back of his hind legs.

The tale of a cat reunited with his owner

Spats was found at 5:30am Wednesday 17 September - hungry but OK. Spats found his way back to a street behind his home when his owner heard his bell. Lynn climbed over a fence and there he was - he'd been unable to leap up and over. As the streets are a maze, Lynn reckons he had a hard time finding his way home and in.

Home Safe - House Cat Was Living Minutes From Home

This little fellow is my Joey. Male, microchipped, collar with ID, 11months old. He was an indoor cat when he escaped to chase a cat - the front door hadn't been closed properly. Only a few yards away he stopped when I called to him and he came home. Unfortuantely he got frightened when someone stood at my door and ran and disappeared. I placed him on websites, Cat Protection, RSPCA. Leaflets were dropped through mail boxes and stuck on trees (repeated when kids ripped them down). I searched and searched.



The tale of a cat being reunited with its owner:

I had had lots of false call outs. A lady called round and said that she was sure this little cat came to her garden to feed at 10pm each night. I believed this to be another false call. On my birthday I'd been out with her family and the sister dropped her home. The sister left but stopped the car as a cat walked across the road from one woods to another - she got out and called the cat - he responded to 'Joey' but ran into the woods. The sister didn't follow the cat because another car was coming. She rang me instead. me and Mum went to the woods. The jingle of a bell followed the calling of 'Joey' then stopped. I believed it wasn't Joey. Two days later the lady rang to say the cat was curled up by her fence, waiting for food. I popped over - the cat, huddled in the darkness, didn't look like her Joey. Another false call. But the cat got up and walked away .. light from the lamp post lit up the cat. It was Joey. I called him. He ran to her and up on to her lap, purring. He's never left my side since.
